Managing director
AJ Millward
After seventeen years working in the New Zealand public service, AJ decided to establish Transcend Consulting to focus on what she enjoys most professionally; working with good people on good projects. Her senior public service experience spans strategy and policy through to crisis management, business improvement, and change management (including agency establishment). AJ has held statutory decision-making and regulatory roles in Crown Entities and Ministries and has worked closely with Ministers across several portfolios. She has also worked with local and national businesses to solve their problems and to help them improve. Her experience provides a deep understanding of how all levels of government operate and has nurtured her ability to work in unconventional ways to get innovative results.
AJ specialises in delivering results for clients operating in fast-paced and ambiguous environments and enjoys challenging projects. A significant part of AJ’s career has involved forming partnerships, as well as working with businesses, iwi, local government and across central government.
AJ believes strongly in the need for good governance and has held professional Directorships. She has completed her Company Directors Course and provides governance advice to businesses on a regular basis.
